Context last updated 20 Jun 2026, 15:21 · Europe/Bucharest

James Duckworth's superior grass-court experience and powerful serve make him the favorite against wildcard Giles Hussey in Eastbourne qualifying.

However, the odds overstate Duckworth's dominance, and the best value is on Hussey +4.5 games at 1.80, given his competitive recent form and Duckworth's narrow winning margins. Avoid the total games under 22.5 and set 1 over 9.5 markets due to efficient pricing and Duckworth's ability to win quick sets.

Context

Duckworth's career grass record is 52-33 (61.2%), including a strong 10-5 in 2024.
- Hussey's career grass record is 7-11 (38.9%), with a 1-1 record in 2026.
- Duckworth's ATP bio confirms grass is his preferred surface, while Hussey has limited grass experience.
Hussey achieved a career-high ranking of No. 293 on 15 June 2026.
- He is a wildcard at his home event in Great Britain, likely with crowd support.
- His last 10 wins include only one against a top-300 player (Robin Bertrand, No. 284).
Duckworth beat No. 84 Diallo and No. 98 Vukic, but lost to No. 225 Djere and No. 229 Butvilas.
- He has a 6-4 record in his last 10 matches, with 4 wins in straight sets.
- His average margin of victory in those wins is 4.2 games, indicating close matches.
