Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 03:31 · Europe/Bucharest

Two players level at 8-7 over their last 15 hard-court matches meet in Courmayeur, where Jacquemot's heavier serve meets Werner's steadier returning.

Jacquemot is the likelier winner, but the 1.3 quote asks for 76.9% and does not justify it. Werner to win at 3.5 and Werner +4.5 games at 1.8 are the two prices that hold up; Under 2.5 sets at 1.36 gives nothing back.

Context

Werner is the lower-ranked player but has the stronger game ledger across the same span of matches.
Game margins say more about competitiveness than a 15-match win-loss record does. Werner's +17 was built against opponents ranging from Anna Blinkova, ranked 72, to Ankita Raina, ranked 587. It does not make her the favourite here, but it argues the match should stay close rather than run away from her.
- Werner's 15 hard-court matches, 3 September to 20 October 2026: 175 games won, 158 lost
- 52.6% of games won in that window (175 of 333)
- Average match length 113.2 minutes across the same 15 matches
Jacquemot's matches have tended to resolve quickly in one direction or the other.
The straight-set habit cuts both ways: her wins arrive cleanly, but so do her defeats, and only two of the 15 matches went the distance. Seven of them still contained a tiebreak, so short has not meant uneventful. The pattern makes a long, grinding contest the less likely shape unless Werner can extend the second set.
- Jacquemot's 15 hard-court matches, 10 September to 25 October 2026: seven 2-0 wins, six 0-2 defeats, one 2-1 win and one 1-2 loss
- Average 20.7 total games and 2.13 sets per match
- Seven of the 15 matches contained a tiebreak
Jacquemot's first serve is the single shot most likely to tilt a set in her favour.
Against Werner's 63.0% of first-serve points won, that serve is the clearest reason Jacquemot is favoured and the most likely source of a lopsided set. The trade-off is volatility: she also double-faults 4.7 times per match. When the first delivery lands, the point has usually been hers; when it does not, the gap to Werner narrows fast.
- 92 aces in 15 hard-court matches, an average of 6.1 per match
- 69.6% of first-serve points won (396 of 569)
- 57.9% of first serves in (569 of 982) and 4.7 double faults per match
Jacquemot comes in off a defeat to a player ranked 184 places below her.
The loss interrupted a run of four wins rather than capping a long slump, so it should not be read as a collapse. It is still a reminder that ranking gaps of this size settle little at this level, and six of her last 15 hard-court matches have ended in straight-set defeat. Werner's comparable risk is her own 2-6 3-6 loss to Blinkova on 8 October.
- 25 October 2026: lost 2-6 4-6 to Hannah Klugman, ranked 341
- Preceded by four straight wins from 21 to 24 October 2026 against opponents ranked 232 to 285
