Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 03:04 · Europe/Bucharest

Stefanini is 107th and 10-5 on indoor hard; Serban is 474th with four hard-court matches behind her, so the gap is real but the detail is not one-sided.

Stefanini should win, yet the 1.12 match price and the 1.15 on her taking the first set ask more than that record supports. Over 20.5 games at 2.6, Serban to win the first set at 4.75 and over 2.5 sets at 3.3 are the prices with something behind them.

Context

Stefanini's first-set record is the weakest part of an otherwise 10-5 hard-court run.
Eight of 15 opening sets went against Stefanini, yet she won 11 of 15 second sets, averaging 4.9 games won against 4.7 lost in the first and 5.4 against 3.9 in the second. A slow start is a familiar pattern rather than a new risk, and it is the main reason a deciding set stays in play here.
- 15 hard-court matches, 27 Aug–16 Oct 2026: first sets 7-8, averaging 4.9 games won against 4.7 games lost (9.6 total games).
- Same sample: second sets 11-4, averaging 5.4 games won against 3.9 games lost (9.3 total games).
The 45.3% games-won figure rests on four matches and 75 games, so it is a snapshot rather than a rate. Two of those four ended 0-2, both with four games or fewer on Serban's side of the scoreboard, which is why the surface numbers look worse than her overall 8-7 record across all surfaces.
- 4 hard-court matches, 30 Sep–11 Oct 2026: 2-2, 34 games won against 41 lost, 45.3% of games won.
- Same sample: 18.75 total games per match, 44.4% of sets won, no tiebreaks.
The most recent completed match in Serban's record is also her heaviest defeat on the surface.
She took two games in the first set and one in the second, conceding 12 of 15 games in a straight-set loss to an opponent ranked outside the top 250. It is one result in a four-match surface sample, but it shows how quickly her service games can slip away when the first serve is not landing.
- 11 Oct 2026, indoor hard: lost 2-6 1-6 to Zongyu Li (ranked 300), 3 games won against 12.
- Three games won across two sets in her most recent completed match.
Blinkova is the highest-ranked opponent among the six recent matches listed, and the match was settled in straight sets with five games conceded. It sits alongside a 6-2 6-3 win over Harmony Tan on 14 October, the kind of clean scoreline that underpins her 54.5% games-won rate on hard.
- 10 Oct 2026, hard: beat Anna Blinkova (ranked 72) 6-2 6-3, 12 games won against 5.
- Blinkova is the highest-ranked opponent among the six recent matches listed.
