Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 27 Oct 2026, 06:02 · Europe/Bucharest

A top-200 player against a No. 645 opponent looks one-sided, and Liam Draxl should win — but Tomasz Berkieta has won twice this week and owns the stronger first-serve points-won rate.

The one price worth a look is Berkieta at 5.75; Draxl at 1.1 asks far more than his case supports.

Context

Draxl arrives as the far higher-ranked player and the favourite.
Machac was ranked 72, roughly 125 places above Draxl, and Draxl took the match in three sets on Oct 16. It is a single result rather than a pattern, but it shows he can beat players ranked well inside the top 100. Berkieta, at No. 645, is a different level of test on paper.
- Oct 16, 2026: Draxl beat Tomas Machac (ranked 72) 6-4 3-6 6-4 on hard courts.
The 73.4% first-serve points-won mark (408 of 556) is higher than Draxl's 68.9%, which keeps Berkieta in service games when the first ball lands. Landing 54.8% of first serves (556 of 1,015) and averaging 4.7 double faults per match means more second serves and more free points for the returner. That variance is the main risk to his chances of an upset.
- Last 15 matches: 73.4% first-serve points won (408/556), 54.8% first serves in (556/1,015).
- Last 15 matches: 71 double faults, an average of 4.7 per match.
The Oct 26 win over Johnson, ranked 432, took three sets and 29 games, and followed a straight-sets win over Arutiunian the previous day. Berkieta is match-tight, having completed two indoor matches in Sioux Falls this week. That is a schedule fact rather than proof of an edge, and the ranking gap still runs heavily in Draxl's favour.
- Oct 26, 2026: Berkieta beat Spencer Johnson (ranked 432) 3-6 7-5 6-2 on indoor hard in Sioux Falls.
- Oct 25, 2026: Berkieta beat Erik Arutiunian (ranked 588) 6-2 7-5 on indoor hard.
