A second-round meeting between the top seed and a former US Open champion: Ruzic is 75 ranking places higher, but Andreescu's serve and hard-court numbers over the tracked window are better, and she won her opener in 59 minutes.

Andreescu is the slight favourite, but the 1.45 price asks too much of that edge. Ruzic at 2.75 is the one quoted price worth considering.

Context

Andreescu won three matches in Samsun, opening with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alana Smith before losing 6-3, 6-4 to second seed Anna Blinkova in the quarter-finals . That run, four days before her Rovereto opener, shows she is match-tough at 125k level but has recently come up short against a seed. Blinkova was ranked No. 73, a comparable test to Ruzic at No. 93, so the quarter-final is the closest available benchmark for how Andreescu handles a seeded opponent. The Samsun week also means she arrives with matches behind her rather than from a break.
- Andreescu beat Alana Smith 6-0, 6-0 in the Samsun first round.
- She won three matches before the quarter-finals.
- Second seed Anna Blinkova beat her 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals .

Ruzic is the top seed and the higher-ranked player at No. 93, while Andreescu, the 2019 US Open champion and a former world No. 4, is unseeded at No. 168 and has been rebuilding through WTA 125 events. The ranking gap and Ruzic's straight-sets opener point to the seed, but Andreescu showed she is winning matches at this level with a 59-minute first-round win and a Samsun quarter-final the previous week. The fixture is therefore a form check on Andreescu's comeback rather than a seeding formality, and the outcome says more about whether she can still handle a top-100 opponent than about Ruzic's standing.
- Ruzic is the No. 1 seed at RoveretOpen Città della Pace 2026.
- Andreescu won the 2019 US Open and reached world No. 4 in October 2019.
- Ruzic is ranked No. 93 and Andreescu No. 168.
- Both players won their first-round matches .

Ruzic needed a 7-5 opening set against Siskova before closing the match 6-3, so the win was competitive rather than routine. As the top seed she carries the seeding expectation in a 125k field that also contains a former Grand Slam champion, and an early exit would be a setback. She has already lost once as the top seed this autumn, at Samsun, so the opening round here is a check on whether she has steadied; the straight-sets scoreline is the encouraging part.
- Ruzic beat Anna Siskova 7-5, 6-3 in the RoveretOpen first round.
- The match was played on hard courts.
- Ruzic entered the event as the top seed.

Andreescu spent only 59 minutes on court in dismissing Ristic 6-2, 6-2, leaving her with a short match behind her before facing the top seed. In a 125k draw where matches come quickly, a brief opener preserves energy for the step up in opponent quality. Ristic is ranked No. 183, so the scoreline shows Andreescu is handling lower-ranked opposition; Ruzic at No. 93 is the first top-100 seed she has faced this week.
- Andreescu beat Mia Ristic 6-2, 6-2.
- The match lasted 59 minutes.
- Ristic was ranked No. 183.
- The win set up a second-round match against the top seed.
