Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 14 Oct 2026, 02:11 · Europe/Bucharest

Ferro is unbeaten in eleven completed clay matches and meets a No. 300 opponent who has kept her recent clay matches inside a nine-game margin.

Ferro should win, most likely in straight sets, but 1.10 for the match and 1.33 for a 2-0 win ask too much. The prices with room left are on Janicijevic: 7.00 to win, 4.75 to take the first set, 4.75 to take the second and 3.30 for three sets.

Context

The win is the immediate trigger for the ranking milestone and keeps Ferro's season-long clay form intact heading into a second-round match against a player ranked far below her. The top-100 position is tied to direct entry into the Australian Open main draw, so this fixture carries a concrete end-of-season ranking stake as well as the tournament result.
- Defeated Aurora Zantedeschi 6-3 6-4 in the Lisbon first round
- Climbed to No. 99 in the live rankings
- Win kept her in position to secure Australian Open main-draw entry

Both titles came on clay, the surface used in Lisbon, and represent the bulk of the ranking points that lifted her back toward the top 100. They confirm she is competing at a level well above her pre-2026 ranking, which underlines the gap in current standing between the two players in this match.
- Won WTA 125 titles at Oeiras and Montreux in 2026
- Ranking climbed from around No. 369 into the top 100 during 2026
- Now described as France's new No. 2
ConfirmedSources checked 14 Oct 2026, 02:09 · Europe/Bucharest
Ferro's clay wins have tended to be settled early rather than stretched into tiebreaks, which shapes how quickly her matches finish.
Ferro has won every completed clay match in this window without a single tiebreak across eleven matches. That makes long, level sets against her the exception rather than the rule. Janicijevic has played two tiebreaks in thirteen clay matches, so the pattern need not hold.
- Won 10 of 11 clay first sets and 9 of 11 clay second sets across 11 completed matches (2 September–13 October 2026)
- Won 8 of the 11 matches in straight sets
- No tiebreaks in any of the 11 completed clay matches; one retirement excluded from the sample
Seeding places Ferro in the upper part of a 125-level field and confirms she enters this second-round match as the higher-ranked player. It reflects her recent results rather than a separate playing condition, so it shapes expectations about the matchup without changing how either player is likely to be tested.
- Listed as the No. 3 seed in the Lisboa Belem Open women's singles draw
