Context last updated 12 Oct 2026, 02:12 · Europe/Bucharest

Pigato carries a ten-match hard-court winning run into her home WTA 125 opener against Avdeeva, the world No. 195, and she is the favourite to advance.

Avdeeva rarely gets blown out, and Pigato's streak came at W125 and ITF level. At 1.38, a Pigato win leaves nothing worth taking, and the other quoted prices offer no value either.

Context

The Caldas da Rainha title was Pigato's second at WTA 125 level in 2026 and it was won on hard courts, the same surface in use at Rovereto, so the surface itself is not a variable. The ranking move to No. 113 leaves a top-100 debut within reach, which raises the points value of a deep run this week. The limit is the level of opposition: the run came at WTA 125 and ITF level, and her strongest recent wins were against players ranked around No. 130 to 165 rather than top-100 opponents.
- Pigato beat Gabriela Knutson 6-4, 6-2 in the Caldas da Rainha final .
- It was her second WTA 125 title of 2026 and the second of her career, after Madrid in April.
- The result raised her ranking 24 places to No. 113.
- The title was won on outdoor hard courts in Portugal.

Pigato has won ten consecutive matches across the two Portuguese hard-court events, including five wins in five days in the week before Rovereto, so she arrives with match sharpness but also the accumulated load of two title runs. The surface continuity removes any adjustment question for a hard-court event in Italy. The caveat is that one of the five Quinta do Lago wins came when Katie Swan retired at 4-0 with a left-thigh problem, so the sequence is not made up entirely of completed wins.
- Pigato beat Eva Vedder 1-6, 6-0, 6-3 in the Quinta do Lago W75 final .
- She was the top seed and it was her fifth title of the season.
- Katie Swan retired at 4-0 down in their semi-final with a left-thigh problem.
- Pigato has won ten consecutive matches across the two Portuguese hard-court events.

Pigato's hard-court sample covers ten completed matches between 24 August and 4 October 2026, with two retirements excluded.
Pigato's hard-court sets have rarely been decided by a tiebreak, and her game totals sit high enough that a long first-round match is possible without one ever arriving. Four of those ten matches went the distance, and her two most recent wins each needed a decider, so clean opening sets do not guarantee a short afternoon.
- 10 hard-court matches, 24 August to 4 October 2026, averaging 20.7 total games and 2.4 sets per match
- Opening sets: 8 wins, 2 losses; second sets: 6 wins, 4 losses
- Scorelines: five 2-0 wins, four 2-1 wins, one 0-2 loss
- No tiebreaks in ten matches; two retirements excluded
Avdeeva's hard-court sample runs from 3 August to 18 September 2026, with one retirement excluded.
Avdeeva's matches end quickly in both directions, and her four defeats in the sample stayed within four to seven games, so a heavy loss is not the pattern. She won two opening-set tiebreaks in that stretch, which shows her sets are not always one-sided, but her record still points to a two-set finish here.
- 10 hard-court matches, 3 August to 18 September 2026, all decided in straight sets
- Scorelines: six 2-0 wins, four 0-2 losses
- Opening sets average 9.9 games with two tiebreaks; match total averages 18.5 games
- One retirement excluded from the sample
