Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 11 Oct 2026, 08:31 · Europe/Bucharest

Primorac is the more settled clay player against a home opponent who has lost her last six matches without a set, but she wins on clay by narrow margins and sits 7-7 on the surface.

Primorac is the likelier winner, most probably in straight sets. Two quoted prices justify attention — Franco Dias at 19.00 and a deciding third set at 12.00 — while Primorac's 1.01 does not.

Context

Franco Dias, a 26-year-old Portuguese player, has won only three of her past 15 matches, and 11 of those 12 defeats came on hard court, the surface she lists as preferred. The Porto first-round loss is her latest result and repeats a two-week pattern against the same qualifier, so she enters a home event with one hard-court win since May. That matters because the ranking gap to Primorac (No. 429) is matched by a results gap, and Franco Dias has been beaten heavily by opponents outside the top 300. The limitation is that Primorac's 2026 results are almost entirely on clay, leaving her level on this surface unverified.
- 12 defeats in her past 15 singles matches in 2026, with 11 of those losses on hard court
- 6-0 6-2 first-round loss to qualifier Angelina Voloshchuk in the Porto main draw in September 2026
- Second defeat by Voloshchuk within two weeks, after a 6-2 6-3 loss earlier in September 2026
ReportedSources checked 11 Oct 2026, 08:28 · Europe/Bucharest
Her first sets are the strong part of a 7-7 clay season: 9-5, averaging 5.0 games won to 3.7 lost. The second set is where that edge fades — 6-8, with 4.2 games lost against 3.6 won. For Franco Dias, staying level through the opening set is the route into the match. One retirement was excluded from this 14-match clay sample.
- Primorac's clay sample: 14 matches, 13 June to 21 September 2026, record 7-7
- Opening sets: 9 wins, 5 losses, averaging 5.0 games won and 3.71 lost
- Second sets: 6 wins, 8 losses, averaging 3.57 games won and 4.21 lost
- One retirement excluded from the clay sample
Two matches, on 24 and 25 May 2026, are her only clay evidence: one straight-sets win and one straight-sets loss, with 24 of the 40 games going her way, and one of those matches reached a tiebreak. That is far smaller and much older than Primorac's 14-match clay sample, so it cannot settle how she handles this surface. What it does show is that she is not always swept aside on clay.
- Clay record: one win, one loss from two matches on 24 and 25 May 2026
- Both matches finished in straight sets (scorelines 2-0 and 0-2)
- 24 games won and 16 lost, 40 in total
- One of the two matches included a tiebreak
Her first serve was landed on 51.2% of points and won 51.1% of them, but only 33.7% of second-serve points went her way, with 6.1 double faults a match. Handing over games without a rally is expensive on clay against an opponent who has won half her 14 matches on the surface. Primorac's own serve numbers are missing from the record, so this is one side of the comparison.
- Serve data tracked across 10 of her last 15 matches
- 51.2% first serves in (274 of 535)
- 51.1% first-serve points won (140 of 274); 33.7% second-serve points won (88 of 261)
- 6.1 double faults per match (61 in 10)
