Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 6 Oct 2026, 15:20 · Europe/Bucharest

Sharipov is the clear favourite: the second seed has won 13 of his last 15 hard-court matches and beat Jasika 6-4 6-4 in Shanghai five weeks ago.

Jasika's counter is the first set, which he has won in eight of 14. Of the reviewed prices, two on Jasika carry potential value — 3.3 to take the opening set and 4.25 to win the match; Sharipov at 1.18, 1.29 and 1.6 asks for more than the evidence supports.

Context

Sharipov's serve and recent hard-court record make him the clear favourite, while Jasika's eight first-set wins from 14 and the extra set he played in round one keep the match from being a formality.

The two played five weeks ago on hard courts in the same country, which makes this the most direct recent comparison available and sets it against a ranking gap of more than 180 places. Jasika's route to that quarterfinal, through qualifying and past a seed, shows the level he was producing on this swing in September. The limitation is specific: the quarterfinal was settled in two sets without a tiebreak, so it says little about how a long deciding set between them would run.
- Jasika and Sharipov met in the Shanghai Challenger quarterfinal, with Sharipov winning 6-4 6-4.
- Jasika entered the Shanghai main draw as a qualifier and beat sixth seed Rio Noguchi 6-2 7-5 in the round before facing Sharipov.

If Jasika is to extend this match, he almost certainly has to survive the middle set, where the record points away from him. Three of those 15 second sets still reached a tiebreak, and three of Sharipov's 15 matches went the distance, so the 14-1 figure rests on a small sample rather than a guarantee.
- Sharipov won the second set in 14 of his 15 hard-court matches between 7 September and 5 October 2026.
- His average second set was 6.27 games won against 4.00 lost.
- Three of those 15 second sets reached a tiebreak.
Those numbers explain why he holds so often and why breaks against him are scarce: 12.4 aces a match and a 74.1% break-point save rate mean few service games run long. Jasika's route into the match is pressure on the second serve, where Sharipov's 54.8% win rate is markedly less imposing.
- 81.5% of first-serve points won (528/648) across 15 hard-court matches, 7 September to 5 October 2026.
- 12.4 aces and 1.4 double faults per match over the same 15 matches.
- 74.1% of break points saved (40/54) and 54.8% of second-serve points won (210/383).
This is the lowest tier of ATP Challenger tennis and the draw holds 32 players, so five rounds are packed into a single week with only a one-day reset between rounds. That frames the ranking gap: Sharipov, at No. 234, is a genuine seed at this level while Jasika, outside the top 400, is not. It also means whatever workload each player picked up in the first round carries straight into this one, which is why the difference in how those openers were won matters.
- Wuning is listed as an ATP 50 Challenger in China, played on hard courts, for the week of 5-11 October 2026.
- The Wuning 3 Challenger 50 main draw singles was published .
