Elena Pridankina #187Russia11 – 2Erika Andreeva #214Russia2

Waltert is ranked No. 98 and was the third seed, making this Andreeva's first win against top-100 opposition in roughly five months. Andreeva came to Adana ranked outside the top 200 and had also lost to opponents outside the top 250 earlier in 2026, so the straight-sets result is the clearest recent sign of her level against higher-ranked opposition. One win does not overturn the wider record, and it came at WTA 125 level rather than on the main tour.

The three-set win came against a player ranked No. 234 and required a hold from 0-40 at 4-4 in the deciding set, so the scoreline hides a tighter match than the ranking gap suggests. It also means Pridankina reaches the quarter-final off a longer outing than Andreeva, who won 6-3, 6-1 the same day. The struggle against a lower-ranked opponent limits how much the result says about her current level, while the extra set is the relevant workload difference between the two players.

Andreeva has played four matches to reach the quarter-final while Pridankina entered the main draw directly and has played two, a genuine asymmetry in accumulated time on court. Her qualifying opener against Yoruk ran into a third set before Yoruk retired, adding match time without a full deciding set being completed. The workload is partly offset because her two main-draw wins were both finished in straight sets, leaving her fresher than the extra matches alone suggest.

Pridankina's first-set record is the most consistent single number either player carries into this quarter-final.

Winning the opening set has been her habit on hard courts in this window, at an average of 6.0 games to 3.6, so she has a clear route to an early lead. The sample is only seven matches, all completed and on this surface, and Andreeva has taken four of her own seven hard-court first sets, so the early lead is a tendency rather than a certainty.
