Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 20 Sep 2026, 20:15 · Europe/Bucharest

Ratti's clay form against Coria's record at this event is the tension: Ratti is 8-4 on clay in the tracked window and Coria 3-7, with Coria 4-9 in his last 13 completed matches, but Coria has won 13 matches here.

Ratti is the likely winner, though the 1.60 match price asks too much. The 1.65 on Ratti to win the second set is the reviewed price that holds an edge; it only applies if a second set is played.

Context

Coria's clay results in this window have depended heavily on what happens after the opening set.
Coria's second sets have been the weakest part of his clay season: he has taken 2.9 games per set while conceding 6.0, and six of his ten clay matches in the sample ended in straight-set defeats. That is the stretch where Ratti has been strongest, with 8 wins from 12 second sets on the surface. The window closed on 28 July, covers ten matches and excludes two retirements, so it describes a recent stretch rather than a settled level.
- Set evidence from 10 completed clay matches, 13 April to 28 July 2026: 1 second-set win and 9 losses, 2.9 games won per set against 6.0 lost.
- Two retirements were excluded from the sample.
- Coria's clay scorelines in the window: six 0-2 defeats, one 1-2 defeat, one 2-0 win, two 2-1 wins.
Ratti's clay results have been built in the middle and closing stages rather than from the first ball.
Ratti's clay record is built more on the later stages than on fast starts, which is unusual for a player who has won 8 of 12 clay matches in the window. Coria, his first-round opponent, has been far weaker after the opening set than in it, so the early exchanges may matter more here than the overall records suggest. Twelve matches over roughly ten weeks is a small sample, and none of them was a retirement.
- 12 completed clay matches, 25 June to 6 September 2026: first sets 6-6 (4.58 games won, 4.08 lost) and second sets 8-4 (5.25 won, 3.83 lost).
- Scorelines: five 2-0 wins, three 2-1 wins, three 0-2 defeats, one 1-2 defeat.
- Ten of the 12 matches were played without a tiebreak.
Ratti enters a home Challenger main draw for the first time, which is a concrete tournament milestone. His June semi-final at Royan supplies the recent higher-tier landmark behind the invitation. This fixture is still his first match in the event's main draw, so his prior qualifying appearance does not establish main-draw experience here.
- The published entry list records Ratti as a wild card.
- His Royan run in June 2026 was his first Challenger semi-final.

The documented 13 wins and two finals make this a return to a particularly familiar Challenger setting. That provides useful event context for a match against Ratti, who is making his main-draw debut here. The record does not establish a current physical condition or recreate the circumstances of those earlier runs.
- The tournament preview identifies Coria as a two-time finalist.
- The current event coverage credits him with 13 Buenos Aires Challenger wins.
