Context last updated 21 Sep 2026, 10:17 · Europe/Bucharest

Ankara's final qualifying round puts a main-draw place on the line.

Zaytseva, world No. 438, has won 12 of her last 15 but almost all of that on clay, while Yoruk, No. 787, has eleven hard-court matches behind her and a 7-4 record on the surface. Zaytseva is the likelier winner; at 12, Yoruk is the only price worth taking, while 1.03 on Zaytseva is an avoid.

Context

Yoruk, ranked 787, brings the larger and more recent body of hard-court evidence into this qualifying decider.
Her second sets are the steadier half of that record, which means a slow start has not been decisive for her on this surface. The counterweight is that three of the 11 matches still finished as losses and only one was a straight-set defeat, so the 7-4 mark has been built on close finishes rather than comfortable ones.
- Yoruk is 7-4 across 11 hard-court matches tracked from 13 June to 20 September.
- She has won 9 of 11 second sets and 6 of 11 first sets on the surface.
- Five of the 11 matches finished 2-0 in her favour, one finished 0-2 against her, three were 1-2 defeats and two were 2-1 wins.
- Her hard-court sets average 8.1 total games in the first set and 8.5 in the second, with one tiebreak across the 11 matches.
Yoruk's serve is the part of her game where her last 15 matches show the most strain.
Double faults at that rate hand over free points in a qualifying match where a single break can decide a set, and her second serve has won fewer than half the points played behind it. Her 62.5% break-point conversion is the counterweight, because she has been efficient at taking the chances she creates.
- Yoruk averaged 6.8 double faults per match across 15 tracked matches, 102 in total.
- She won 40.9% of second-serve points in that span (157 of 384).
- She converted 62.5% of break points (75 of 120) and saved 52.5% (62 of 118) over the same 15 matches.
This is a qualifying decider for a WTA 125 main-draw place rather than a main-draw match: Zaytseva is the third seed and Yoruk the eighth seed in the Ankara qualifying bracket. Both reached this round with straight-set wins on 20 September, Zaytseva without dropping a game against Naoko Eto and Yoruk 6-1, 6-0 against Sude Ulueren, so each carries two sets of competitive time on these courts into the decider. Those wins came against different opponents, which sets the stakes and the workload without offering a direct comparison between the two players. Zaytseva sits at No. 438 and Yoruk at No. 787, a gap that reflects career standing rather than anything established inside this qualifying draw.
- The Ankara qualifying draw seeds Zaytseva third and Yoruk eighth and pairs them in the final round after each won her opening match on 20 September.

The Antalya doubles final on 13 September is the most recent competition on Zaytseva's record before this Ankara event and links her to the Turkish WTA 125 swing that continues here. Her singles matches immediately preceding Ankara were five straight clay-court wins in early September, so the Antalya final is the only recent competition outside clay on her record. That result came in doubles alongside Alevtina Ibragimova and does not describe her singles level in this match, but it confirms recent competitive activity immediately before this qualifying round.
- Zaytseva's player record lists the 2026 Antalya WTA 125 doubles final played on 13 September alongside Ibragimova.
