Context last updated 20 Sep 2026, 15:39 · Europe/Bucharest

Staeheli is the higher-ranked, in-form player with superior return and break-point numbers, making him strong value on the moneyline at 2.10 despite a thin hard-court sample.

Expect a grinding, three-set-style match, so back Staeheli to win while leaning toward overs on games and sets, and avoid Arutiunian as the 1.65 favorite.

Context

Staeheli, 456th, is a right-hander whose career record is built mainly on clay (74 wins) but who has played more hard-court matches in 2026 (16-9). Arutiunian, 600th, is a 191cm right-hander whose career wins also lean heavily to hard courts (107).
Staeheli's 73.3% recent win rate and 56% games-won rate are both well above Arutiunian's 53.3% and 48.8%. On hard courts the gap narrows slightly but still favours Staeheli, though his hard-court sample in this window is only three matches. Arutiunian's 13 hard-court matches in the same window give a more stable read of his current level, which sits closer to even.
- Staeheli last 15: 11-4 record, 64.7% sets won, 56% games won (15 matches tracked).
- Arutiunian last 15: 8-7 record, 51.6% sets won, 48.8% games won (15 matches tracked).
- Staeheli hard-court last 15: 2-1 record, 51.3% games won (3 matches tracked).
- Arutiunian hard-court last 15: 7-6 record, 49% games won (13 matches tracked).
Return points won is a core measure of how often a player gets into an opponent's service games. Staeheli's career return-points-won rate is 43%, while Arutiunian's is 38%, so the recent split follows a longer trend.
Staeheli's 41.3% return-points-won rate is supported by a 69.5% break-point save rate, meaning he both creates and defends break chances well. Arutiunian's 35% return rate is lower, but his 47.6% break-point conversion rate is close to Staeheli's 49.4%, so the gap may not translate directly into a lopsided break count. Arutiunian's 58.5% break-point save rate is also a counterweight if Staeheli does generate chances.
- Staeheli last 15: 41.3% return points won, 69.5% break points saved (14 matches tracked).
- Arutiunian last 15: 35% return points won, 58.5% break points saved (15 matches tracked).
- Staeheli break points converted: 49.4% (43/87).
- Arutiunian break points converted: 47.6% (30/63).
First-serve percentage measures how often a player avoids starting the point on a second serve. Arutiunian's career first-serve rate is 62%, so his recent hard-court figure is below his own baseline.
Arutiunian's 57.4% first-serve rate on hard courts is modest, and his 68.1% win rate on first-serve points means he needs that serve to land to stay competitive. Staeheli's 52.2% first-serve rate on hard courts is worse, but with only three matches tracked it is a weak signal. Staeheli's 73% break-point save rate on hard courts suggests he has managed the second-serve exposure well in that small sample.
- Arutiunian hard-court last 15: 57.4% first serves in, 2.2 double faults per match (13 matches tracked).
- Arutiunian career first-serve percentage: 62%.
- Staeheli hard-court last 15: 52.2% first serves in, 5 double faults per match (3 matches tracked).
- Staeheli hard-court break-point save rate: 73% (27/37).
