Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 13 Sep 2026, 16:09 · Europe/Bucharest

Keegan Smith is the superior player with a better ranking, recent form, and a prior H2H win, making him the likely winner.

However, the odds on Smith are too short for value, and the match could be closer than expected due to Krueger's return game. The total aces over 8.5 is the most appealing betting angle.

Context

Krueger, 32, is ranked 358 and has a career win rate of 52%, but his recent hard-court results have been poor.
In his last six hard-court matches, Krueger has won just one, with a 16.7% win rate and only 40.5% of games won. His first-serve points won dropped to 66.2% and return points won to 36.5%, both below his overall last-15 averages. This suggests he is struggling to hold serve and create break chances on this surface, which could give Smith an edge if the match stays on hard court.
- Krueger's last 6 hard-court matches: 1 win, 5 losses (16.7% win rate).
- Hard-court games won: 40.5% (45 of 111).
- Hard-court first-serve points won: 66.2%, return points won: 36.5%.
Smith, 27, is ranked 193 and has a career first-serve win rate of 72%, but his recent hard-court serving has been even stronger.
In his last six hard-court matches, Smith has averaged 7.8 aces per match and won 76.5% of first-serve points, well above Krueger's 66.2% on the same surface. His first-serve percentage is 70.3%, and he saves 77.8% of break points. This serving edge could allow Smith to hold more easily and put pressure on Krueger's weaker return game.
- Smith's hard-court aces per match: 7.8 (47 aces in 6 matches).
- Smith's hard-court first-serve points won: 76.5%.
- Smith's hard-court break points saved: 77.8%.
The two Americans met once before, in a 2022 hard-court match, and Smith won in straight sets.
In that 2022 meeting, Smith won 6-3, 7-6(2) and had a higher first-serve win rate (73% vs 70%) and a much better break-point conversion rate (60% vs 17%). Krueger also hit seven double faults. While that match is four years old, it shows Smith has handled Krueger's game before, especially on serve.
- H2H: Smith won 6-3, 7-6(2) on hard court in 2022.
- Smith's break-point conversion in that match: 60%; Krueger's: 17%.
- Krueger had 7 double faults in that match.
