Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 6 Sep 2026, 15:31 · Europe/Bucharest

Tsygourova's superior recent clay form and serve/return stats make her a strong value pick at odds of 3.30, with a model edge of 27.7 points.

Zaar's tendency for three-set matches suggests a competitive contest, but Tsygourova is the more likely winner.

Context

Tsygourova, ranked 394, has built a career on clay with 163 career wins on the surface.
Her 60% win rate in the last 15 matches, all on clay, is better than Zaar's 46.7% over the same span. However, Tsygourova's recent losses have come against higher-ranked opponents, so the gap may narrow against a similar-level player.
- Tsygourova's last 15 overall record: 9-6 (60%)
- Zaar's last 15 overall record: 7-8 (46.7%)
- Both players' last 15 matches were on clay
Zaar, ranked 303, relies on a high first-serve percentage to start points effectively.
Her 81.2% first-serve in rate over the last 15 matches is significantly higher than Tsygourova's 60.8%. However, Zaar wins only 54.5% of points on her first serve, while Tsygourova wins 61.5%, so the advantage may not translate directly into more service holds.
- Zaar first serve in: 81.2% (990/1219)
- Tsygourova first serve in: 60.8% (595/978)
- Zaar first serve points won: 54.5%
- Tsygourova first serve points won: 61.5%
Zaar is the No. 1 qualifying seed and faces Tsygourova in the opening qualifying round of the clay-court Montreux WTA 125. The winner must still progress through qualifying before reaching the main draw.
- The 2026 qualifying draw lists Zaar as the top seed against Tsygourova in Round 1.
- Montreux is listed as a WTA 125 clay event.
