Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 23 Aug 2026, 15:59 · Europe/Bucharest

Max Purcell is favored over Igor Ribeiro Marcondes due to superior hard-court form, a dominant serve, and Marcondes' recent retirement and fitness concerns.

Purcell's high ace rate makes over 8.5 total aces a solid bet, while the match winner odds offer no value. Avoid the set 1 total games over 9.5, as Purcell can win sets comfortably.

Context

Marcondes retired against Lautaro Midon on 19 August 2026 after leading 7-6(3) and losing the second set 3-6.

- The second Kingston Challenger began on 23 August, giving him only a few days of recovery.
- His last 15 matches average 84.6 minutes, but the doubles final adds extra physical strain.
Purcell's last 15 hard-court stats: 78.4% first-serve points won, 7.5 aces per match.
- Marcondes' last 15 overall first-serve points won is 66.3%, and his hard-court sample is only 2 matches.
- Purcell's career hard-court record is 217 wins vs Marcondes' 101, showing a strong surface preference.
Marcondes' last 15 by surface: 12 clay, 2 hard, 1 grass.
- His hard-court record in that span is 1-1, with only 2 matches tracked.
- His career hard-court win percentage is lower than his clay win percentage (101 wins vs 136 wins).
