Quick Take

Pre-match view

Context last updated 29 May 2026, 18:14 · Europe/Bucharest

Sakellaridis enters in red-hot clay form with a career-high ranking, while Olivieri has battled through three-setters all week.

The only available market is match winner, but Sakellaridis's odds of 1.50 offer negative value relative to model estimates, making this a clear avoid.

Context

Sakellaridis is 14-1 on clay in his last 15 matches, with the only loss to Marco Cecchinato (ranked 178) in a tight two-setter.
- This week in Chisinau, he has not dropped a set, beating Sumit Nagal (282), Alex Martinez (323), and Federico Agustin Gomez (179).
- His last five clay wins include victories over top-200 opponents like Gomez and Toby Samuel (159), showing he can handle similar-level competition.
Olivieri's quarterfinal win over Luca Nardi (163) lasted three sets and included a third-set tiebreak, following two prior three-set wins over Elias Ymer (191) and Andrej Nedic (245).
- All three matches this week went the distance, with Olivieri on court for extended periods, while Sakellaridis won in straight sets each round.
- The semifinal is scheduled for May 30, just one day after the quarterfinals, offering limited recovery time.
Sakellaridis won the first set 6-1, 7-6, and 6-3 in his three Chisinau matches, while Olivieri lost the first set 6-0 and 4-6 in two of his three matches.
- Career first-set win conversion: Sakellaridis 89% vs. Olivieri 85%, a meaningful gap in a best-of-three format.
- Sakellaridis's fast starts this week contrast with Olivieri's need to rally from behind, which could be harder if fatigue sets in.
